Faculty of International Tourism Begins the Term with Foreign Lecturers Participation (0)

Acknowledging the inclusion of Faculty of International Tourism (STF) of Turiba University in the international cycle, there is an opportunity for students to hear lectures by foreign lecturers regularly. Foreign lecturers are attracted thanks to active participation of Faculty of International Tourism and by using both opportunities of ERASMUS programme, and other support funds.

On 23rd of September the lecture on the effect of management processes in quality of tourism services and possible actions in company was read by Prof. Dr. Thomas Liebetruth (Regensburg University of Applied Sciences, Germany).

At the beginning of October two lecturers from Finland will visit the faculty. Already tomorrow, on 1st of October, tourism expert Outi Kähkönen (Rovaniemi UAS Multidimensional Tourism Institute), which is Turiba partner in the joint project funded by Nord Plus, will read lectures on social media in travel business and the use of MailChimp in email marketing. 

On Monday, 7th of October Teija Tekoniemi-Selkala (Multidimensional Tourism Institute, Rovaniemi University of Applied Sciences, the School of  Tourism and Hospitality Management), the researcher and lecturer of Arctic areas will read a guest lecture on the Arctic tourism including Barents Sea region.

From 8th till 11th October Turiba students will visit the course of lectures „Income Management”, which will be read by Swiss researcher and industry professional Detlev Remy from Switzerland (Les Roches International Shool of Hotel Management). This project of Latvia and Switzerland is jointly realized by Latvia University of Agriculture (leading partner of the project), University of Latvia and Turiba University. The project is an important step in the cooperation of Latvian universities, at the same time providing opportunities for students to acquire the course of studies according to the requirements of Swiss universities, to get acquainted with other Latvian universities and students, as well as promoting exchange of academic staff experience.
