Students had an opportunity to acquire the programme “Front Office Operations” for the first time in the previous year.

The first, who acquired this programme in Turiba University, was student of Faculty of International Tourism and Hospitality Management Agnese Jurkina. She successfully passed examination of AHLEI course and gained the valuable certificate. In order to receive the certificate Agnese had to acquire a huge learning material, which was arranged in 14 sections. At the end of each section there was a test. Students were allowed to take the final examination only when they have successfully passed these 14 intermediary tests and solved situations offered in the virtual environment.

The winner of the certificate Agnese Jurkina remembers that the most difficult was to break into American legislation: „Hospitality standards cannot be viewed without considering legislation, because successful activity of a company depends on it. Although I study in English group and I am fluent in English, American English and professional terminology were a real challenge for me, because in our education system mostly British English is taught.”

Also lecturer Margarita Platace is satisfied with the results and started cooperation with American organization.“I am very glad that now we have already two graduates of the course. It is not easy to learn at your computer, but it is interesting, because also virtual games are offered in this course, - situations should be solved not only theoretically, but also practically. The course is useful for those who relate their career with international companies and work in English. I recommend everybody to use this opportunity, because you can learn at the time comfortable and available for you. The result is in your own hands!”
