Professors Andris Pētersons and Guntis Zemītis of the Faculty of Communication of Turiba University participated at the sitting of the Humanitarian and Social sciences department held at the Latvian Academy of Sciences on 21st February 2019.
Turba’s representatives wereinvited to the sitting of the Humanitarian and Social sciences department (HSZN) of the Latvian Academy of Sciences by academic Leo Dribins to speak about the values of national minorities. The sitting was chaired by academic Raita Karnīte, the head of HSZN. Leo Dribins spoke about the formation of minorities in the Republic of Latvia, whereas Nadežda Pazuhina spoke about the historic experience of Latvian Russians and Vladislavs Volkovs shared information about the historic experience of Riga’s Russian community in the Republic of Latvia.
It was a very valuable experience and a special honour to participate in such an event where topics significant and topical for the Latvian society were discussed.
