Study room- StartUp Agency has been solemny opened at Turiba University (1)

On 24th August at Turiba University has been solemny opened the Multifunctional Study Room of the International Tourism Faculty- the StartUp Agency, which will allow students to apply the knowledge gained during their studies in practice.

The high school management and lecturers, representatives of the tourism sector and students of the higher educational institutions participated in the opening of the training room for the future specialists.

Aldis Baumanis, the Chairman of the Board of Turība University: "The multifunctional training room created as a travel agency, will be a great place for future tourism professionals, in which they will be able to not only test their skills at the university, but also participate in various discussions and seminars on the industry. Such classrooms should be and this is not the first and definitely not the last practical training room at the university. "

Member of the Board of the Latvian Association of Travel Agents and Operators (ALTA), Estravel director Anta Jokste: "This kind of study area will promote the development of practical skills, will enable students to play real situations from the day-to-day business of travel agencies with their clients. Particular attention should be paid to developing student’s communication skills and sales skills. The tourism agencies and the association are generally ready to advise the StartUp Agency of the School of Business Administration Turiba in order to maximize its benefits for both students and business. "

StartUp travel agency was opened by Dr.oec., of Turiba University,  Director of the Tourism Research Center – Eriks Lingeberzins-led discussion about the role of travel agencies in the modern tourism industry and the importance of qualified staff in providing a quality service.
