Tourism Strategic Management
The study program “Tourism Strategic Management” prepares students for work in the field all over the world. This is a great opportunity for students who see their career in an international environment. In this program you will gain strategic management and planning skills, and learn the regularities and techniques of forecasting. You will learn to analyze, study and forecast trends in the tourism and hospitality field in the Baltics and around the world.
In the framework of the "Tourism Strategic Management" study program you will learn how to reasonably discuss complex aspects of tourism management, develop corporate and institutional strategies in today's changing environment, find solutions to complex and unpredictable operating conditions of tourism industry companies, research, analyze and compare tourism destinations in Latvia and understand the interaction between tourism and other fields.
The Professional Master's Degree Program “Tourism Strategic Management” provides a broad knowledge base of tourism and hospitality management and provides a strategic perspective on global tourism developments. The study program is proud of its lecturers - outstanding industry practitioners representing tourism and related fields - hotel management, tourism policy planning at the national level, and restaurant business. During the study process, students develop viable strategies for the development of new tourist destinations that provide an opportunity to learn about strategic tourism planning in practice. Students gain invaluable insight into development and trends of the global tourism industry by participating in the world's largest IT exhibition, ITB Berlin, which is also a valuable platform for international contacts.
The study program has been awarded with the prestigious United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) TedQual accreditation for the maximal period of four years, until 2026.
The study program is accredited until 2024.

Students of the Master’s study program learn the regularities and methods of tourism strategic management, planning, forecasting of tourism, learn about the international tourism environment and its latest trends, carry out research in tourism planning and marketing, as well as visit tourism destinations and meet professionals in the field during study visits.
Theoretical knowledge is strengthened in practice - in tourism and hospitality companies. Master students carry out creative, independent research, integrating knowledge of different fields and solving topical problems of industry and companies.
Admission requirements
In order to enter the Master's study program, the applicants are requested to present a document of previous higher education obtained, and has to provide one of the English language certificates mentioned within the Admission information. If the applicant does not have any of the respective English language certificates, however the medium of instruction of his/her bachelor studies was English, he/she will receive a link to Turība University on-line English test after the registration.
