Data processing of scientific conference participants

The purpose of personal data processing is to ensure participation in the scientific conference with a report or publication in the conference proceedings, organized by the University, as well as publicity of the event, and informing about future scientific conferences organized by the University. Data on the represented university / company is used for statistical purposes.
The conference will be photographed and filmed. Live broadcast, video recording and photos will be available on www.turiba.lv and on the University's Facebook page. Conference presentations and collection of articles will be published on www.turiba.lv.
The legal basis for the processing of personal data is Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation), Article 6 (1) a) the data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data for one or more specific purposes; f) processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the controller or by a third party, except where such interests are overridden by the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject which require protection of personal data, in particular where the data subject is a child.
The conference application will be kept at the University one year after the conference. Documents justifying the conference participation fee will be kept in accordance with the Law "On Accounting" for at least five years. The video recording and collection of articles of the conference will be kept until the topics discussed at the conference are relevant. Conference photos will be stored for 6 years. Data on receiving information about future scientific conferences organized by the University will be stored until the consent is revoked by sending information to the e-mail address: turiba@turiba.lv. After the expiration of these terms, personal data is deleted.
The data subject has the right to request access to his / her personal data from the University, to demand the correction or deletion of inaccurate personal data, submitting a justification to the request, to call for restriction of personal data processing in cases specified by law, as well as to object to processing. With questions regarding the processing of his or her personal data or regarding the violations in the processing of his or her personal data, a person is entitled to apply to the data protection specialist of the University or submit a complaint to the supervisory authority - the State Data Inspectorate.
The personal data of the data subject are used only for the data processing marked above.
The data subject has the right to revoke this consent at any time without adverse consequences by sending a notification to the e-mail address turiba@turiba.lv. Withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of the processing based on consent prior to withdrawal.
