Discussion “Latvia - view from a foreign student’s eyes” – watch online!
At the beginning of May, Latvia will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Day of the Restoration of Independence of the Republic of Latvia. During this time, a new generation has grown up in Latvia, the country has changed and opened its borders to guests from all over the world, who not only visit Latvia, but also live, work and study. To find out what foreign students from Egypt and Sri Lanka think of us, on May 13 at 6.30 PM, we invite you to join the conversation “Latvia - view from a foreign student’s eyes”. The event will take place online on the Turība University Facebook page.
Every viewer will have the opportunity to find out what students, who have come to us from countries with different cultural characteristics, think about traditions and people in Latvia. During the conversation, you will find out what the first impressions of foreign students were when they arrived in Latvia, and what opinion has formed at the moment. Students will also reveal how they have managed to integrate into society and get to know Latvian culture and traditions, as well as what encouraged them to get an education in Latvia.
Marwan Mansour (Egypt), a student of the Master's study program “Business Administration”, Turība University, who has lived and studied in Latvia from 2012 to 2016, then went back to Dubai, but now has come back to Latvia to continue his education at the Master's level will share his experience and tell about Latvia and Latvians. Prasad Aruna, a student of the Master's study program “Strategic Tourism Management” (Sri Lanka), who is not only studying but also working, will also participate in the conversation.
