New double diploma cooperation with Kiel University of Applied Sciences for the field of communication
We are pleased to announce that a new bachelor's level cooperation agreement on a double degree program has been concluded between Turība University’s Communication Department of the Faculty of Business Management and the Media Faculty of Kiel University of Applied Sciences (Germany).
This means that students of the International Communication Management program at Turība University have another opportunity to obtain a double diploma.
The program requires that students have to complete 2 semesters at the host university and the student will be able to choose which university to write the diploma thesis at. Students who successfully graduate from the program will be awarded a bachelor's degree from both Turība University and Kiel University of Applied Sciences.
"It is really a great opportunity for the students of both universities, because it is an opportunity to get a double diploma, as well as to study in an international environment and supplement the knowledge of future communication professionals in such important study courses. Therefore, I hope that students of Turība Univeristy will take advantage of this opportunity, and we are also waiting for the students from Kiel as guests!" emphasizes Jana Bunkus, Head of Communication Department.
Now International Communication students will have the opportunity to study Public Relations and Corporate Communication during their time with the program at the Media Faculty of Kiel University of Applied Sciences, and it is important that the studies will be conducted in English.
At the beginning of April, Jana Bunkus also had the opportunity to visit the Kiel University if Applied Sciences and meet both students and leading teaching staff. Also, the head of the Communication Department visited the Faculty of Media to familiarize herself with the study process and technical possibilities. "I was most attracted to the recording studio, where, similar to our Communication creative space "DigiCom", students have the opportunity to record video, record audio, and create other communication materials. It must be said that, in the case for our colleagues from Kiel, work is also done in the studio by the university radio, created by the students themselves. Turība University students, we still have some work ahead of us!"
