Participate in Nordic SecTech Summit 2024

This year, on October 17, Riga will host a major security event, the Nordic SecTech Summit 2024, with active involvement from Turiba University and the ERASMUS+ SECUREU project. The central theme of this year's summit is "human-centered security design." Turiba students, lecturers, and others interested in the field of security are invited to register for the event. Participation is free of charge.

While technology continues to evolve rapidly, one security factor remains constant - the human factor. Human errors are still one of the main causes of data breaches and security incidents. "The system does not make mistakes; only people do"—this applies both to human errors in system design and to the fact that people performing manual tasks make more errors than a well-designed system. The system only fails if a human made a mistake during its design process. Therefore, a new paradigm is emerging: human-centered security design, which also complies with all laws and security regulations.

During the event, participants will have the opportunity to attend presentations by various industry professionals, visit exhibitions, and take part in practical workshops.

Lecturers and experts from Turiba University will also participate in the event as speakers and will organize an ERASMUS+ SECUREU project workshop to discuss the future skills of security industry professionals.
