CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY
It is important for Turība University to constantly develop, fulfilling not only the function of educating students and society but also contributing to ensuring the future of society, helping to find solutions to various global problems, and becoming a responsible part of the industry and society.
Therefore, Turība implements the principles of corporate responsibility in its operations to promote sustainability, ethics, and a positive impact on society, the environment, and the quality of education.
These principles are included in Turība’s development strategy, which also defines the university’s mission – to implement a successful business based on the principles of sustainable development and to teach this to others, thus strengthening the idea of socially responsible entrepreneurship in Latvia and increasing public knowledge and understanding of sustainable development, responsible environmental behavior, and its impact on the economy and society in the future.

According to the United Nations Sustainable Development Global Goals, Turība University primarily sets eight goals in its operations and implements various activities to achieve them.

- We offer study programs in the healthcare sector, with a focus on healthy nutrition, active lifestyle, and physical and emotional well-being.

- We provide education that is in demand in the labor market and internationally recognized: we are the largest business university in the Baltic and one of the top 3 most recommended universities by employers; we ensure practical approach to the study process. (Emphasis is on professional knowledge: 60% practice, 40% theory. Students acquire practical knowledge, reinforcing theoretical learning with internship every study year, and a practical orientation for lecture material. As part of the curriculum, various industry experts give guest lectures, and there are field visits and trips to companies and organizations in Latvia and abroad.)

- We provide modern teaching methods in the study process, diverse digital learning materials that allow students to fully gain knowledge regardless of their chosen study form or location, and we offer different study formats that allow students to conveniently combine their studies with private and work life.
- We ensure an international environment. Turība has students from more than 40 countries around the world. Students have access to extensive international exchange programs in more than 120 countries worldwide.
- We offer support in career development. Students can receive support from Turība's Career Center and Business Incubator, as well as consultations from professionals and mentors in various industries on implementing business ideas.
- We ensure academic integrity and ethics: we maintain high academic and research ethics, preventing plagiarism and intellectual property violations, and ensure transparency in the academic process by involving students and staff in decision-making.

- We use environmentally friendly and energy-efficient technologies: by installing solar panels that allow the generation of about 20% of the university’s electricity needs in one season, and we use energy-efficient LED technologies and motion sensors for lighting.
